Embark on a journey to reimagine education through creativity, community, and sustainable futures.

HILM: Service Learning Programs
HILM designs three types of programs for students to engage in Service Learning Courses in Gilgit Baltistan and Lahore. Our focus is on providing enriching experiences that combine education and adventure.
1. Summer Service Learning Tours: With a commitment to offering a more sustainable, unique and localised tour of GB, we want to change the extractive perspectives on the province.
2. Short Term Service Learning Courses in Lahore: We introduce students to their own neighbouring communities and teach them about relational learning and the principles of fieldwork.
3. Long Term Service Learning Courses in Lahore: We embark on long term projects that
Every season brings new adventures and knowledge. Join us on a journey of discovery and growth.

Our Philosophy
“The children of Adam are limbs of a frame,
for in creation, from one soul they came.
If hard times cause one member to feel pain,
at ease and rest, the others can’t remain.
If a limb’s in pain and you do not care,
the title ‘human being’ you can’t share” – Hazrat Sheikh Sadi
Bani Adam is a poem from Hazrat Saadi’s Gulistan, and it beautifully encapsulates the ethos of HILM. Interestingly, this poem was transcribed on an Iranian handmade rug in the United Nations building in New York — a powerful reminder of its universal relevance.
Yet, the irony is striking. While the world acknowledges the depth of this wisdom, our otherwise privileged selves remain largely disconnected from our own roots. Deprived of exposure to tradition in its full bloom, we are left searching for identity amidst a fractured understanding of the past.
HILM’s mission seeks to bridge this gap, blending the light of tradition with the innovation of modernity. HILM seeks to foster a deeper connection with indigenous wisdom and the diversity of our traditions. We hope to inspire critical consciousness and a sense of purpose in the next generation. This effort is not merely about reviving tradition but about planting its seeds in the fertile ground of our contemporary lives, allowing them to flourish and guide us toward a more humane and thoughtful future.
